Seeing that the weather is hot and sunny, don’t really feel like a hot bowl of soupy noodles. So part two of the Pho Off! will have to wait. Today’s lunch is from another food stall in the Old Spitalfields Market. It’s hard to describe the food from Misha. It serves wraps, burrito, filled baked potatoes, sandwiches and a range of salads where you can mix and match. I guess a bit like a normal cafe but with a Mediterranean twist? They offer a combo deal where you pick a wrap or a burrito with a small side salad for £6.00. It’s not bad really seeing that the wrap/burrito cost £3.50 while a small salad will set you back £3.75.
All the wraps are pre-made and placed on a griddle upon order. There will usually be a choice of 6 or 7 different salads. While the wrap is being warmed up, you tell the server what salad combination you would like. By the time that is done, the wrap is normally ready.
For today, I decided to have the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with a side salad. The pita wrap is filled with 2 pieces of crispy fried chicken fillet, some iceberg lettuce, sliced tomatoes, blue cheese sauce and topped with some hot sauce. I enjoyed it a lot especially the blue cheese and hot sauce combo. The tangy blue cheese with a hint of heat from the hot sauce, good stuff!
As for the salad, I had Chicken with Saffron Orzo, Mushroom Ravioli and a Green Bean with Cherry Tomato Salad. There wasn’t much chicken in the Saffron Orzo but that’s fine, the smoothness of the orzo is what that appeals to me. The mushroom ravioli was cooked just right and the woodiness of the mushroom filling contrasts nicely with the crunch of the green bean.
Believe you me, I was simply stuffed after all that food! With the heat and all, really struggling now to keep my eyes open… zzzzzzzzzzzzz
